DCNHS, ISO Certified!

September 20, 2019 marks the biggest breakthrough in DCNHS history as it has successfully met and passed the requirements for ISO 9001:2015 Certification, thus making it the first mega school in the entire Philippines an ISO Certified institution.

There were 23 processes audited, and all process owners and members spearheaded by Mr. Medarlo V. De Leon and Mr. Willy U. Guieb presented the documents that proved DCNHS’ call for excellence, quality and customer satisfaction. Auditors coming from the Certification Partnership Global (CPG) who reviewed and assessed the school’s processes include Ricardo F. Adriano Jr. (Team Leader), Adrian Villanueva, Glaizelle Sayas, Cristina Caalim, Engr. Eduardo Cabanatan, Marife Micosa, Irene Calantog, Nelson Gocon, Vivian Dedace, Danilo Andro Garcia, Jeric Aldea, Mabel San Juan, Mark Cadiz, Lea Salano and Ralph Eleazer Monteser. DCNHS also recognizes the contribution of its ISO consultant, Mavic Mediavillo.

“Everything was made possible with the concerted efforts and shared responsibility of every stakeholder. The unity of all the stakeholders guarantees that pride, excellence and quality will rule the home,” said Medarlo V. De Leon, JHS Principal, in his speech during the post conference.

Mr. Willy U Guieb, SHS Principal, also took pride in the milestone of the school. He said, “This leap towards a higher vantage point only proves that Dagupan City National High School is true to the division’s tagline, “Service with a Heart.”

This certification from the International Organization for Standardization (ISO) is an important step in ensuring long-term practice of embracing the concept of quality through continual improvement of operations and procedures. It develops a professional culture and better employee morale. Most importantly, ISO 9001:2015 is a worldwide standard that puts DCNHS in a very select group.

Stage 2 Audit was conducted on September 18 where facilities were checked and documents were scrutinized, while Stage 1 Audit happened on July 18.

In full force. The strong force of DCNHS ISO Team led by Sir Medarlo V. De Leon.

DCNHS administrators led the External Auditors for an onsite monitoring and evaluation of the school facilities during the Stage 2 External Audit.

ISO Auditor gives feedbacks and recommendations to DCNHS Administrators regarding improving the physical facilities of the school.

ISO External Auditor closely examine the papers and documents presented by the DCNHS administration during the Stage 2 External Audit.

After long and ardous preparations, Consultant Mavic Medialvillo conducts initial mock audit on all 23 processes on July 1, 2019. Mediavillo’s assessment results show that DCNHS is 85% ready for stage 1 Audit, thus confident that it will successfully pass and meet the ISO Certification 9001:2015.

Consultant Mavic Medialvillo together with Mr. Medarlo V. De Leon, Principal IV, and Ms. Zenaida M. Padlan , Administrative Officer IV, inspects the ICT equipment of DCNHS to assure that the school really caters to the 21st century teaching and learning.

A leap to a higher vintage point: DCNHS gears towards ISO certification. The Process Owners listen intently to ensure that the certification will be an important step in embracing quality service through continual improvement of operations and procedures.

Validation towards ISO Certification. The Auditors carefully examine the different processes in the DCNHS- Junior High School. The team, led by Mr. Medarlo V. De leon, Principal IV, sees to it the school is compliant with the International Organization for Standardization.

You reap what you sow: Being an ISO certified entails many sacrifices but it will be worth it all in the end. The ISO Auditor provide coaching to DCNHS process owners when it comes to the accomplishment of the necessary documents.

Let’s do this! The DCNHS-JHS ISO team is united and one in accomplishing the gargantuan task of becoming an ISO Certified school. Documents are being prepared to be audited and validated by the ISO auditors.

The Process Owners are in high spirits and are eagerly awaiting the announcement if DCNHS can be granted the ISO certification it strongly coveted for.

Victory! The entire DCNHS ISO workforce now reaps the glory of being an ISO certified school in Dagupan City. Truly, it is a trust mark of pride and excellence.
